Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the 11th game in the Ghost Recon series. Like other games of this entry, it is a thrilling shooter, complete with a mysterious island and covert elements.

In the single player campaign, you play as Lt. Col. Anthony Perryman - better known as Nomad - who must investigate Skell Technology. Skell is a military contractor, located on the island of Aurora who is alleged to have allowed their technology to fall into the hands of enemy military regimes. Things go from bad to worse when a navy ship thinks off of the cost of Aurora and Pettyman's squad-mates are killed at the start of the operation to investigate Skell.

Arguably the best feature of this game is the island of Skell itself. It is massive, creative and fun, replete with a variety of features, challenges and elements for the player to explore. You can't just shoot your way through each of the missions: The game forces you to explore the island, engage in dialogue and collect critical intelligence. This forces you to explore, think creatively and otherwise play this game in a different fashion than what you may be used to.

The game comes with a slew of features which have come to be expected from tactical shooter games. Players can select what class to complete a game as, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Completing levels isn't just a matter of running and gunning; players have to collect intelligence in order to be able to complete missions. New gadgets and weapons help with this process and add a degree of fun and creativity to the game. Furthermore, the game also has survival elements, and players must manage their levels of health, hunger, fatigue and weapon conditions. Fortunately, you do play with AI-soldiers, ensuring that players have assistance as they complete missions.

The game does come with a series of multiplayer options, allowing for players to compete against each other or play cooperatively.

Unfortunately, the game was not ready for launch when it first premiered. The cover system often malfunctioned and allowed you to get shot. Other users reported a variety of bugs, including being unable to move at various points - a slight problem when you are trying to avoid death. Furthermore, many of the game's more creative pieces of equipment stopped working at various points, dramatically hindering your ability to play the game.
